2026 Conference & Reunion

The Stagville Descendants Council extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who joined us for the 2026 Conference & Reunion. Descendants, families, friends, community partners, volunteers, and supporters came together to celebrate our shared heritage, reconnect across generations, and honor the lives and legacy of the enslaved families of Stagville.

 

Throughout the conference, participants explored family history, celebrated our culture, recognized community leaders and elders, strengthened family connections, and reaffirmed our collective commitment to preserving the history and legacy of Stagville's descendants.

This conference would not have been possible without the dedication of our volunteers. From planning and registration to hospitality, logistics, and event support, volunteers helped create a welcoming and meaningful experience for everyone who attended.

 

We are grateful for every individual who gave their time, energy, and talents in service of our community.

 

Looking Ahead

Our work continues beyond the annual reunion. Planning is already underway for the 2027 Stagville Descendants Conference & Reunion, with goals to expand descendant participation, increase volunteer involvement, strengthen community partnerships, and create even more opportunities for engagement throughout the year.

 

We're also excited to launch several new initiatives, including:
